PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Foam solution.
Air. Controlled discharge.

The Frozenfire MX 225 is a portable medium expansion foam branch for Class B hydrocarbon liquid fire applications. A matching 225 LPM inline foam inductor proportions concentrate into the water before the solution enters the branch.

Atmospheric air is drawn through the induction ports and combined with foam solution across the stainless-steel mesh. The resulting foam blanket is intended for fuel-surface coverage, vapour suppression and protection against re-ignition, subject to the selected concentrate and system design.

This page brings together two 225 LPM inlet configurations: the MX 225 instantaneous version and a flanged-end branch. The technical table and downloadable PDF describe the MX 225; the flanged version is identified separately below.

01

Air-aspirating foam generation

Air enters through the induction ports and mixes with foam solution across a stainless-steel mesh to form a medium-expansion foam blanket.

02

Portable assembly

A carrying handle, corrosion-resistant components and powder-coated finish support handling and deployment.

03

Pressure monitoring

The MX configuration is shown with a pressure gauge. Confirm the specified glycerin-filled gauge and supply scope when ordering.

04

Matched proportioning

A matching inline inductor supplies foam solution at the branch’s rated flow and the selected 3% or 6% concentration.

behind the discharge.

Component materials and arrangement from the selected product catalogue.

01

Body & finish

Aluminium alloy / stainless-steel construction options with a powder-coated finish; carrying handle and stainless-steel fasteners.

02

Air path & mesh

Air-induction ports, internal expansion chamber and stainless-steel foam-generating mesh form the foam discharge.

03

MX inlet & instrumentation

A 2½-inch instantaneous inlet, pressure gauge and protective end cover are listed for the MX branch assembly.

OPERATION

Prepare the system.
Establish the foam discharge.

Catalogue guidance used with the approved fire-protection system procedures and selected foam concentrate.

  1. 01

    Inspect before use

Inspect the branch, mesh, gauge, inductor, suction hose, seals and couplings. Verify concentrate suitability and secure all connections.

  2. 02

    Connect the matched system

Connect the fire-pump hose to the inductor inlet and the inductor outlet to the branch. Place the pickup tube in the concentrate and check the flow-direction arrow.

  3. 03

    Establish the operating pressure

Open the water supply gradually and establish the catalogue duty of 7 kg/cm². Check continuous concentrate induction at the selected 3% or 6% setting.

  4. 04

    Generate & apply foam

Atmospheric air mixes with the solution across the stainless-steel mesh. Hold the branch securely and apply foam using the approved roll-on, bank-down or rain-down technique for the hazard. Avoid disturbing the fuel surface.

  5. 05

    Flush, drain & inspect

Flush the branch, inductor, mesh, pickup hose and strainer with clean water. Drain, dry and inspect the assembly before storage.

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE

Keep the air path clear.
Maintain the assembly.

Inspection, maintenance and storage guidance from the matching MX branch catalogue. Follow the approved procedures for the complete foam system.

01After every use
  • Flush the foam branch and inline inductor with clean water to remove concentrate residue.
  • Clean the stainless-steel mesh, suction hose and strainer.
  • Drain and dry the equipment; inspect the pressure gauge and couplings.
02Monthly inspection
  • Check the mesh for blockage or damage and verify gauge operation.
  • Verify inductor performance and inspect seals, O-rings and couplings.
  • Check the suction hose for cracks or leaks and tighten fasteners.
03Annual service
  • Conduct a full flow and foam-performance test and verify the 3% or 6% induction percentage.
  • Inspect internal corrosion; replace worn seals, O-rings and damaged components.
  • Recalibrate or replace the gauge as required and service the complete assembly.
04Storage
  • Store fully drained and dry in a clean, well-ventilated location.
  • Protect from direct sunlight, corrosive conditions and dust.
  • Keep the suction hose and strainer clean and cover the unit during long-term storage.
