CONNECTION & USE

Connect. Deploy.
Recover.

Catalogue guidance for hose handling. Follow the instructions for the selected assembly and the installed firefighting equipment.

01

Inspect and connect

Inspect the hose and couplings before use. Connect securely to the hydrant valve, monitor or pump outlet and check that the couplings are properly locked.

02

Deploy and supply

Straighten the hose to prevent kinking and open the water supply gradually to avoid water hammer. Use the connected branch pipe or nozzle according to its instructions and the site procedure.

03

Drain and store

After use, close the water supply slowly, drain the hose completely, and clean and dry it before rolling and storage.

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE

Keep the hose
ready for service.

Inspect the hose after each use and maintain the couplings, gaskets and locking mechanisms as part of the equipment maintenance programme.

01Inspection and fittings
  • Inspect after each use for cuts, abrasion, punctures or other damage.
  • Check couplings, gaskets and locking mechanisms regularly.
  • Replace damaged hoses or couplings before returning the assembly to service.
02Cleaning and storage
  • Wash with clean water after use, especially after exposure to chemicals, saltwater or foam concentrate.
  • Dry completely before rolling and storing.
  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
03Handling and periodic checks
  • Avoid dragging the hose over sharp edges or rough surfaces.
  • Carry out periodic hydrostatic pressure testing in accordance with the applicable standard and the selected hose rating.
  • Confirm the relevant test procedure and pressure before testing the assembly.
