PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Foam distribution.
Part of a complete system.

The Frozenfire Foam Sprinkler is a fixed discharge device for foam-water systems protecting flammable-liquid hazards. It receives foam solution through the piping network and distributes it through a specially designed deflector.

The catalogue describes stainless-steel SS 304 / SS 316 construction and pendent installation. Connection sizes and concentrate compatibility are selected to suit the system design.

A compatible proportioner mixes concentrate with water upstream of the sprinkler. The resulting foam application helps cover the fuel surface, cool it and suppress flammable vapours. Coverage and performance depend on the complete system and the selected concentrate.

01

Stainless-steel construction

SS 304 / SS 316 body options with a natural stainless-steel polished finish.

02

Defined discharge characteristics

K-42 is the value tabulated in the catalogue. Confirm its unit convention and the selected model’s hydraulic data.

03

Concentrate selection

AFFF, AR-AFFF, FFFP, protein and fluoroprotein are listed, subject to compatibility with the selected system.

CONSTRUCTION

Body. Connection.
Discharge geometry.

Product construction and connection options from the catalogue.

01

Body & connection

Stainless-steel body with BSP / NPT connection options in the catalogue sizes.

02

Discharge deflector

Disperses the incoming foam solution into the intended discharge pattern.

03

Identification & finish

Natural stainless-steel polish; keep product identification markings legible for inspection and replacement.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

From system activation
to controlled discharge.

Understand the discharge device in the context of the complete fire-protection system.

01

Activate the system

Automatic detection or manual activation initiates the foam-water system.

02

Proportion upstream

The selected proportioning equipment mixes the specified concentrate with the water supply.

03

Distribute at the hazard

Solution travels through the fixed piping to the deflector for foam discharge over the protected area.

System activation and concentrate proportioning take place upstream. The catalogue does not establish an individual thermal-release mechanism for this foam sprinkler.

OPERATION

Prepare. Operate.
Return to standby.

Catalogue guidance for use within the approved system operating procedure.

  1. 01

    Before activation

Check concentrate stock, proportioner calibration, valve positions and water supply. Inspect sprinklers for damage and obstruction.

  2. 02

    During operation

Operate through the approved foam-water system procedure. The upstream proportioner supplies solution to the fixed network and sprinkler deflectors.

  3. 03

    After use

Safely isolate, flush residual solution with clean water, inspect sprinklers, replenish concentrate and restore standby after inspection and testing.

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE

Inspect the device.
Maintain the system.

Use these catalogue intervals within the facility’s approved inspection and maintenance programme. Isolate the system safely before maintenance.

01Monthly inspection
  • Inspect for damage, corrosion and leakage.
  • Keep the sprinkler clean and unobstructed; check threaded connections and identification markings.
02Quarterly inspection
  • Verify water and concentrate availability and inspect proportioning equipment.
  • Check piping supports and connections. Test alarm and detection interfaces where applicable.
03Annual maintenance
  • Carry out the approved system performance test and verify discharge pattern, coverage, pressure and flow.
  • Inspect and clean deflectors, replace damaged or excessively corroded sprinklers and flush the piping system.
  • Check concentrate quality in accordance with its manufacturer’s recommendations.
