PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Water distribution.
Directed at the hazard.

The Frozenfire MV Spray Nozzle distributes water over equipment and exposed surfaces in fixed water spray installations. Its internal orifice and deflector produce a medium velocity spray pattern for cooling and exposure protection.

Spray angle, discharge coefficient, connection size, spacing and orientation are selected as part of the approved hydraulic design. Horizontal, vertical and inclined installation are listed in the catalogue.

The nozzle receives water when the deluge or water spray system is activated. The catalogue lists several angle and connection options; specific flow, K-factor and pressure data must be confirmed for the selected model.

01

Controlled spray pattern

A precision-machined orifice and stainless-steel deflector distribute the incoming water.

02

Angle options

65°, 80°, 95°, 110° and 120° are listed. Select the model and nozzle spacing for the required coverage.

03

Installation flexibility

Horizontal, vertical or inclined orientation according to the approved system drawings.

CONSTRUCTION

Body. Connection.
Discharge geometry.

Product construction and connection options from the catalogue.

01

Brass body

Threaded BSPT / NPT inlet in the listed connection sizes.

02

Precision orifice

Machined discharge passage; its geometry must not be enlarged or damaged during cleaning.

03

Stainless-steel deflector

Shapes the water distribution into the model’s specified spray angle.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

From system activation
to controlled discharge.

Understand the discharge device in the context of the complete fire-protection system.

01

Supply through the system

The detection and deluge arrangement supplies water to the fixed piping network.

02

Shape the discharge

Pressurised water passes through the orifice and across the deflector.

03

Cover the equipment

The selected spray pattern applies water across the target surface for cooling and exposure protection.

The system controls water supply and shutdown. Coverage must follow the approved nozzle selection, spacing and orientation.

CONFIGURATION & ENQUIRIES

Define the requirement.
Select the configuration.

Share the installation and project requirements with our team.

01

Hydraulic selection

Request the selected K-factor, discharge data and pressure rating. Match these to the approved hydraulic calculation.

02

Coverage & installation

Choose the required angle, connection and orientation. Share drawings showing protected equipment and nozzle positions.

03

Commissioning preparation

Flush the pipework before fitting. Use compatible thread sealant and verify the model, angle, spacing and orientation before commissioning.

Catalogue guidance for use within the approved system operating procedure.

  1. 01

    Check the installation

Verify the approved drawing, unobstructed spray openings, correct orientation and adequate water supply.

  2. 02

    Activate the spray network

The deluge or water spray system supplies water. The nozzle distributes it through the orifice and deflector.

  3. 03

    Isolate for service

Follow the system operating procedure for shutdown. Depressurise before inspection, cleaning or replacement.

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE

Inspect the device.
Maintain the system.

Depressurise before maintenance. Do not paint or obstruct the nozzle. Use the approved replacement components and the facility’s maintenance procedure.

01Monthly inspection
  • Check physical damage, corrosion and leakage.
  • Ensure spray openings are unobstructed and nozzle orientation is correct.
02Quarterly maintenance
  • Inspect for dirt, scale, paint and foreign particles. Clean with water and a soft nylon brush.
  • Do not use metal tools or sharp objects that could enlarge or damage the orifice.
03Annual maintenance
  • Inspect the complete water spray system and conduct a discharge test where permitted.
  • Check spray pattern, coverage, pipe supports and system integrity; replace damaged or corroded nozzles.
