A wide water sheet. A considered installation.

The Jumbo Curtain Nozzle directs pressurised water through a shaped discharge section to create a broad, fan-shaped curtain. It is intended for equipment cooling, fire exposure protection and industrial fire-water installations.

The catalogue lists SS 304 and SS 316 construction, a handling grip and portable or fixed mounting arrangements. Curtain width and coverage depend on water flow, pressure, nozzle geometry, installation height and orientation. Specify these together when selecting the nozzle.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

How the nozzle works.

The discharge section spreads the incoming water into a wide, fan-shaped sheet. The resulting curtain provides cooling and helps reduce radiant-heat exposure to adjacent equipment and areas.

Supply

Pressurised water enters through the selected inlet connection.

Shape

The internal passage directs water into the shaped discharge section.

Spread

Water leaves as a broad curtain, with coverage determined by the hydraulic and installation conditions.

01Before use

Inspect the nozzle, inlet and mounting arrangement, including the discharge opening.
Confirm a secure supply connection and the specified operating pressure. Keep personnel clear of the discharge area.

02During use

Open the supply gradually and check for a uniform water curtain.
Monitor pressure and adjust orientation only where the installation permits. Keep hands and body clear of the pressurised discharge.

03After use

Close the supply gradually and completely depressurise before disconnecting.
Drain, rinse with clean water where necessary, dry the exterior and inspect before returning to service.

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE

Inspect the waterway, connection and operating components as part of the equipment’s maintenance programme.

01Routine inspection

Check the body, welds, joints, handle, supports and inlet for damage or corrosion.
Inspect seals and gaskets; clear blocked passages and verify that the discharge remains uniform.

02Cleaning

Flush with clean water after use and clear foreign particles from the waterway.
Use a suitable non-abrasive method for stainless steel. Avoid sharp tools and chemicals that may damage the outlet or finish.

03Preventive maintenance

Set inspection intervals for the operating environment and applicable maintenance requirements.
For a fixed system, inspect associated valves, piping, supports and connections as well as the nozzle.

04Storage

Store clean and dry, protecting inlet and outlet from dust. Keep any provided caps or plugs fitted.
Avoid heavy loads on the body or handle and inspect before returning the nozzle to service after storage.
